Ok so today i just called my local USAF recruiter & im starting the basis for my airforce career

Im a helicopter mechanic, non military and im here to tell ya its not a glorious life, unless of course you crew chief or something and then go pilot, then thats a whole other field.

Go for a job you LOVE, not just one you think you can do... MX guys routinely work long hours, and by that I mean LONG LONG LONG hours. If you are not completely into your job.... you are going to hate life.... just a heads up. EOD is a critical MOS and the schools are tough (worry more about the academic portion than anything) so keep your head in the game. In EOD, if you have a bad day, you get scattered all over a country you aren't from. While in the school house you are there TO LEARN, the military doesn't pay people just to "show up" and your FULLFREAKIN'GODDAMNTIMEJOB is to pass that course to the best of your ability. What that means is when it's dollar drink night at that bar right outside the gate at Elgin where all the hot slutty girls hang out at, keep your  in your room and study. Tell your boys "No thanks man, not tonight, I'm here for my career, not some strange that might give me a case of the "burnin' urine".  Don't fall in love with anyone there either. That thing that she does so well, that you like so much... she perfected it by practicing on every class that got there and graduated before you ever thought about joining the Air Force.

Hey Charlie i am glad to see that you decided to join the Military,as a Veteran of both the Navy and Army it is a great experience but a commitment you must be sure about,once your IN,there is no turning back,your military duty will follow you the rest of your life,you have the time so check out all your options.

If you're gonna do it, give it everything you have. Volunteer for all the deployments and training available. Get everything you can out of the military, because you can be d**n sure they are going to get everything they can out of you.
